Anti-stain treatments are always a great way in ensuring your rug is well protected before introducing it to your space. Your local rug specialist should be able to provide suitable options designed just for you.

When you first receive your hand-knotted rug you may sense a smell, not to worry this is from the lanolin content which is a natural content with antibacterial properties. The smell will very quickly dissipate.

If your rug is placed in a highly sun exposed area or with a lot of foot traffic make sure to rotate your rug from time to time for even wear and to ensure its beautiful ageing process.

In case of any spill or stain you need to take your rug for a professional clean.+ Do not try to clean the rug yourself.

For subtle stains, soak the stain with a dry paper towel then apply a cloth dampened in a mix of water and vinegar 8:1 part. Try to wash it off with a little clear mild soap.

Pat the solution and never rub.

Original wool rugs can crease if folded in the same area for a long period of time, this means there is not synthetic fabric mixed. The mark goes away in time.
